Thrifty Gifts With A Reader In Mind
Budgets are tighter than ever this year and to help make yours go further why not consider giving a gift you found thrift store shopping?
I can hear you from here:
“That’s disgusting!”
“Everything from there smells!”
“People will know!”
My answer to that is: Not necessarily.
Thrift store shopping is more accepted than it use to be since design shows have decorated entire rooms from items bought at a thrift store and nearly everyone is familiar with Antiques Road Show and the heart stopping amount that vase, painting, chair, etc, bout for a couple of bucks at a thrift store was now worth. You many never be that lucky, but you can find items that make great gifts.
If a person on your gift list loves to read, then thrifting for your gift will be extra easy. There are books galore at almost any thrift store. Just find out if romance is what they like to read or mysteries, cook books or craft books. What ever it is I bet you can find it at a thrift store.
If a single book doesn’t seem like enough to give, then how about doing 2 or 3 or a series of books and still be tops in your budget. You can also go one step further and pair a book with a small gift that fits in with the books theme.
The Romance Reader:
Get 1 or 2 books and add a bottle of bubble bath to the gift.
The Mystery Reader:
Give a box of chocolates with the book or find something that goes with the story line. I once read a mystery series with a cat in everyone, so a stuffed kitty would make a nice accompanying gift.
